Creation as an Intoxicant

There's a kind of energy that enters a room where creativity is occurring.

Once, in the long ago, people would go to great lengths to be near this type of energy. Recently Its become more typical to find it in front of a laptop with the help of a robot friend.

It seems something has been lost in this interaction.

The resonance that was once between the people in the room, be them artist and audience, or a group of software engineers up at 3 a.m. surrounded by mountain dew now gets turned into training data to create a better version of claude.

It's a terrible waste, because that resonance fueled more innovation than the world's cleanest product.

Anyone can make anything now. And so they do.. in silence.
