Craft

When output is favored over input, process falls apart.

There's an expression in gambling circles "Don't be results oriented." When you place too much emphasis on what happens, good or bad, you lose sight of the factors you have control over.

Gambling is mathematical and it's easier to see when luck elements come into play than other vocations, but the idea repeats itself all the time.

The goal is always to produce results, but the real prize in pursuing results is you develop skill in your craft. Craftsmanship is repeatable. Results are not.

Focus on results, make yourself insane.

Focus on craft, results will come.
